2018 banquet

Another year, another banquet and another huge success! Our 2018 FBU & CTPHA banquet could not have gone better. We have found our groove and everything from check in, to dinner, to games, to auctions, and to check out went smooth. The room was filled with laughter and smiles and people supporting us and our never ending battle to protect the rights of sportsmen and women.
This banquet would not be possible without the help of many great people. Cindy Seff, the banquet coordinator for the FBU has the banquet business down to a science and pulls all the strings together. Aside from her role as FBU coordinator and all of the duties that entails, Cindy and her husband George Seff, work hard on a personal level to ensure success. They spend hours preparing for the banquet and setting up and still donate items to our auction and participate in games and auctions. George also does a great job selling eggs for the Gun of the Year Raffle. They are a huge help and asset to our event and organization, thank you Cindy & George Seff.
My family is also a huge help and support system; Kevin, Joe, Kacy, Sarah and Brandon work so hard at the banquet running games, selling tickets & balloons, assisting with checkout and just doing whatever needs done. But their most important work is before the banquet even starts; soliciting donation items, selling tickets and getting gun sponsorships is the foundation of a healthy banquet. My family also fearlessly (well, mostly) puts up with me in the busy weeks leading up to the banquet, that is no small task and I so greatly appreciate them and their efforts.
The CTPHA is so lucky to have such a great relationship with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and we are grateful that they come out to enjoy and support our event. A special thanks to Dean Riggs for being our guest speaker for the night. Thank you Colorado Parks and Wildlife for your support, we appreciate you.
Dan & Karen Gates always contribute and this year was no different. They donated some great items from their store, Traders of the Bighorn. Dan did a wonderful job as our Emcee like always and Karen did a great job running the background checks and helping our gun-winning attendees leave with their new prizes. Dan & Karen, thanks for all you do.
I would like to thank Levi Ellis of Ellis Auction Services and his crew. Levi and his crew donated their service and time to help our event. They did a great job and undoubtedly made our auction a huge success.
As mentioned earlier, sponsorships are so important and can make or break our event. We are lucky to have so many great sponsors for our guns and the fur blanket. I’d like to thank the following sponsors: CTPHA Stock Show, CTPHA Fur Auction, Architectural Windows & Doors, John Walker & Family, Shaun & Sara Brainard, Jim Hooks, Cheryl & Claude Oleyar, Paul Gonzales, Idaho Trappers Association, Don Waeschtler, Shelly & Dan Schirer, Pack String Outfitters, Fazzi Agriculture, Bruce Bartow, Silver Spur Outfitters, Don Clifford, Barry Warner, Alan Palmer and Robert Frady. I also want to say a huge thank you to all of the wonderful people and businesses who donated items for our event, you and your support are greatly appreciated.
We had no shortage of help at the banquet and I want to give all of them a huge thank you. Raffle Manager Scott & his wife Jackie Cisco, Bobby & Allison Lane, Jarrod & Ron Adams, Shelly & Dan Schirer and Paul & Brandi Kaufmann.
Miss Rodeo Colorado, Alex Hyland was able to attend our banquet this year. She was a great addition to our event and pitched right in to help with whatever was asked of her. Each year, CTPHA donates a fur coat to Miss Rodeo Colorado and Alex looked beautiful in her coat and we are so happy to have been able to connect with her.
Last but definitely not least, thank you to everyone who attended. Without you, we would not have an event. The support you show us is so appreciated. We are continually striving to make each year bigger and better for all of you. We hope that everyone who attended had an incredible time and walked away excited for next year’s banquet.
I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who played a part in this year’s banquet, this would not be possible without the help and support I received. I have put a lot of thought into this letter and would like to offer my most sincere apologies if I missed thanking anyone.
